Why are conservatives afraid of change?

The word "conservative" means someone who want to keep things as they are. No matter how outdated and disastrous their ideas are. Why do you want to continue with Bush's reckless and fearmongering policies? Why do you want to continue to believe in creationism and "intelligent design" although they have been proven wrong by science? Why do you refuse to understand that since the world is changing the US must also change in order to not to lose ground as we have been doing under Bush? Why are you afraid of s? Why are you afraid of science? Why are you afraid that a non-white male with a funny sounding name can be the next president?
