Is Santa Claus considered a false God?

If Santa was a god he wouldn't need to climb down chimneys! Santa is just another scare tactic story to get kids to behave and it even works for a few hours, much like the bible uses scare tactics to make people believe. No difference there to me, all Gods sound false. Kids owe their allegiance and life to their family who raised them.
